Apple MacBook Pro Review
The MacBook Pro is one of the top dogs right now of the laptop world coming in at a hefty £1000 by most retailers. customers want to know exactly what they’re buying as this price is a lot to invest in if you are skeptical of purchase.
The MacBook Pro has 256 GB of storage SSD (which is common across all recent MacBook products), and a 3.2 GHz processing speed. The RAM is also a standard 8 GB (RAM). Also includes a refresh rate of 60 Hz, battery life of 10 hours and screen size of 13.3 inches in diameter.
Display resolution of 2560 by 1600 Graphics processor (Apple M1) sadly does not come with a touch screen feature unlike the iPhone line up. Total price of around £1200
A unique aspect of the MacBook Pro model is that if you consider the “Pro” part of the name : the Touch Bar. is a long, thin, touch-enabled OLED screen that comes mounted forward of the MacBook Pro’s keyboard. its use is for specific apps like the Adobe Creative Suite and Apple’s final cut pro X, which let you use the Touch Bar to go through a video timeline, switch tool selections, and much more. More features using the touch bar will likely be implemented later on. This feature is exclusive to the MacBook pro and is not present on the MacBook Air.
Who is it targeted to?
Students, editors, executives, managers, professionals are the primary target market of Apple Inc. Also including people who need to do work on long journeys. On the bus, train, car or plane. Or even if your travelling to different places while still needing to do work. The MacBook allows easy access anywhere and at any time including its long lasting battery life to get you through the whole day charger free. Would not recommend for people who are based in 1 location for the majority of their time working. As a normal computer is better fitted for that purpose.
Apple MacBook Air
Can the MacBook Air rival the Pro?
The MacBook Air definitely gives the Pro a run for its money quite literally, being significantly cheaper than the Pro. (Price around £1000). What is the difference between the two thought? and which should you buy?
With a battery life of around 8 hours, the Air is slightly lower than the pro (of 22 hours). Though the storage and ram are the same respectively, at 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD. Note however the air comes with a Fanless design which could affect the performance of the laptop after long succession of use. The plus side to this is that it is completely silent when in use. 13.3 inch screen, 3.2 GHz processing speed and 60 Hz refresh rate. Display resolution of 2560 by 1600 and graphic processor (apple M1). So what is the difference between the Air an Pro?
The MacBook Air is only a dual core process compare to its big brother Pro of quad core. This affects the performance speed and even lifetime of this laptop if used for many years. Battery life and design is slightly different across the two being the shape and thickness. The pro is also built to last better if dropped or damaged. The Air does not come with a touch bar unlike the Pro. There is a difference in price of around £200.
who is it targeted to?
if you are all for the performance and longevity of it then the Pro is the one for you but if your looking for a laptop with cheaper price that gets the job done then the Air is the one for you.
if you are a Students, editors, executives, managers, professional or even just want a high end laptop which won’t stop working after a year then then the Air is fit for you. The Air is recommended in nearly all circumstances, at home, on the move or anywhere for that matter. this little thing gets the job done!
MacBook Pro 16 inch
worth the extra money?
The MacBook pro 16 inch is a titan of a laptop coming in at a huge price of more than £2000. not to mention the size and weight of it (16 inch display and weighing 1.9 kg). how does it compare to its rivals though?
The Pro 16 inch comes with a resolution of 3,072 x 1,920 which is a big increase from the pro and air. Also a 6-core Intel Core i7 processor and 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD. 4 Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C), 720p front camera. 4.5 GHz of processing power. This will have a much faster speed for nearly every task in comparison to all other MacBook’s on sale right now!
Where’s this extra money going?
You may be wondering, why is the Pro 16 inch so much more than the others? longer battery life of up to 11 hours, a touch ID button to prevent theft or unwanted use, Siri support, much better audio-speaker quality and mic quality, more base storage (512 GB SSD), more RAM (16 GB), more cores ( i7), more sturdy to avoid unwanted breakages when dropped.
